
Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA)
The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) is a federal program that offers financial compensation to individuals who suffer from specific illnesses tied to radiation exposure from atomic weapons testing or uranium industry employment.
The program was reauthorized this year and expanded to include individuals living or working in parts of St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County.

Living individuals must have been physically present in an affected community for at least two years after Jan 1, 1949, and later diagnosed with a specified disease.
Authorized agents or beneficiaries of deceased individuals may file a claim if the deceased met the same criteria as above and passed away from one of the specified diseases.

Just Moms STL, St. Louis Co. Library, and BOA President Hold Informational Town Hall
On December 1, 2025, Just Moms STL, the President of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, Megan E. Green and St. Louis County Library co-hosted an informational town hall to inform residents about the program. The meeting was recorded and archived on the City of St. Louis' YouTube channel.
