No to data centers

Susi Blatz•1 month ago Why would the city consider additional data centers when our utilities are already challenged? Why would the city approve the Armory as a location, thus killing the momentum of the Midtown development? Why doesn’t the city listen to the people? Why would I choose to reelect city leaders that do not listen?I implore the city to end development plans for data centers in the City of St. Louis!

Data centers are bad for the Lou

Susi Blatz•8 months ago I am very much against data centers being built in St. Louis city. The one proposed by Green Street seems to be a particular folly. Green Street has defaulted on development loans for other projects. Green Street is not solvent. Why on earth would the city allow a data center led by Green Street?Add to that, Data Centers are bad business for St. Louis.  They will require excessive electricity and water that will overwhelm the cities already struggling electrical grid and the aged water system The short term tax advantages of construction are not long term sustainable. In this the city is short sighted The proposed location near the Armory will prove detrimental to the positive development in that area creating another dead zone similar to the horribly planned highway 40 corridor The Armory will kill positive developments such as The Foundry, the Greenway, the Spring Avenue Viaduct and residential development.  Please put an end to Data Center development in the city of St. Louis!Thank you.
