I wish to increase (18) or re-scale the demarcations of the Aldermanic ward

The newer 12 member board of alderman seems ineffectual because they are stretched to the limits at most. I noticed that some alderman are as busy as bees and are being approached by citizens outside their ward boundaries to find out information. With the May Tornado, many are working almost 24 hours a day and have placed themselves on call.

I call for a new election on the matter in order to get the citizens approval on the new board structure since some time has passed. By the way, whaterver happened to the "revision" of the City Charter? It seems stalled or quietly dropped without fanfare.

There are currently 14 wards and alderpersons. Ward reduction was approved by voters in 2012 to take effect after the 2020 Census. The new ward boundaries were approved by the Board of Aldermen in December 2021. Each of the wards were drawn to include roughly the same population (21,000 people per ward), according to the results of the 2020 Census.

    @Cristina Garmendia Yes, but I consider it is time to consider offering an alternative for citizen representation. Is what we have in operation now any better than what was in place four years ago? This is in view of the shrinking city population. Of course, the population will not always be in a waning mode. What will happen when the proposed housing developments are in place and populated by a mobile citizenry? Right now, several wards' geography look worse than the recent examples of state congressional maps. This is only a suggestion.

      @Barbara M What do you mean by alternative? Some cities have at-large legislators, not tied to any specific ward. Is that what you mean?
